i am so used to Lia Silver's marine/military stories...you get a heavy duty, in depth story, full length novel (about 8 hours to read) story that will leave you thirsty for the follow up stories! so i was very very surprised to see that Lia had written a humorous novel...so totally different from what i have read of her in the past! Lia Silver did a wonderful job with MATED TO THE MEERKAT! The cover chosen for this story so fits the character of Chance! he is young, a sexy hunk - but not the huge big hunks you would relate to in shifters! why? because he is a MEERKAT!!! if you take a close look at the meerkat on the cover you will see a good indication of how this character is! Jasmine the love of his life...turns out to be a cheetah! the villains...oh they are such snakes! slitherin' all over the place!MATED TO THE MEERKAT gives you a cute, fun story of love, friendship, family relations (that will have you in stitches), and new ways to look at the strife we see in life...if they can get through this why can't we...in our lives...learn some of these same lessons!
i sincerely hope that Lia Silver will continue on with more of the humorous style stories like this one! they are worth you time...a pick me up for life!

This book takes you to los Angeles but with African Savannah shifters. It a great tale with developed characters. The author obviously has researched her animals to be able to have her shifters feel real enough for you to love them.
Very fun, light and bouncy - as one might expect of a meerkat. I'd love to see more about these characters. Or even something about the rest of Chase's family. Definitely for those who like laughter in their romance.
I truly enjoyed this story. Chance and Jasmine are terrific. They have such a great connection. This story is different . I won't say why because I don't want to ruin it. This makes it even better. The focus on the telepathic bond is wonderful This is a delightful story..
This is a great little romantic comedy, with plenty of shifters and suspense and steamy sex to go along with the humor! Definitely a change of pace from the author's more serious and in-depth Werewolf Marines series -- this book is hilarious and sweet, with a very likeable hero and heroine who have all kinds of fun -- ALL kinds ;) -- dealing with unexpected plot twists, the bad guys, and each other. A fun read, and highly recommended!
I loved this book! It was definitely an amazing step above many of the recent shifter stories I have read. An engaging, witty plot, quirky characters, and an unpredictable plot line make this an excellent novella. I downloaded it for free, but I will go on to read more of this author's work for certain. Bravo.
EDIT I didn't read the blurb until a moment ago when telling a friend to download it. I went into this without reading the synopsis and believe I enjoyed it more for that surprise. As a reader, its my preference if so much of the plot isn't told in the synopsis.
I wasn't sure how this would work since I'm used to shifters being strong and alpha, and you gotta admit a meerkat really doesn't strike anyone as alpha. Well, Chance really isn't alpha but he's cute and funny, so it's a cute story written with humor. That and the quirky plot earned this story four stars. It's nothing very deep or serious; not a lot of tension, passion or spice between the leads, even though there is at least one sex scene. If it were a movie it'd be a Disney animation like Little Mermaid (minus the supporting characters)--that's the kind of vibe I got when reading it.
This was so much fun, truly laugh-out-loud fun. You might think it was a gag story or a parody--meerkat shifter? really?--but Lia Silver commits to the concept 100 percent and makes it every bit as convincing a shifter romance as one with a wolf or bear or other burly animal. The repartee between the two characters (which Silver excels at) is awesome; you want to root for both of them so hard. Especially Chance (he loves bubble tea--how can you not love a guy who loves bubble tea?). Chance and Jasmine are paparazzi, tripping over each other in pursuit of their quarry. Chances annoys the pants off Jasmine (not quite literally, but almost), but she's also hugely attracted to him. And Chance adores Jasmine. Although they're competitors, they're assigned to work together, which pushes their relationship too far too fast. Meanwhile, the mayoral candidate they're stalking is in with a crowd of Slytherin-types who are threatening to make things not only difficult, but dangerous. It's a quick read and entirely satisfying--go for it!
